Our organization was founded on April 11, 2005, in Midrand with an evening service held from 7 pm to 8 pm. Our primary aim was to promote the worship of the Divine mother Asie Parashathie. Over the years, we grew as an organization and established a sub-branch in Edenvale in 2007. Our humble beginnings started with a marquee structure that was later transformed into a semi-permanent structure that we affectionately call “The Glass Temple.”
We’ve achieved significant milestones since our inception, and some of them include:
- In 2006, we held our first Sarasvathie prayer, which has since become an annual event at the Halfway House Primary School, with over 500 devotees in attendance.
- In 2008, we relocated to the Buccleuch Intersection of Gibson and Old Pretoria Road.
- Later that year, we held our first Lakshmi prayer.
- In 2009, we started holding Sunday services at 10 am.
- In 2010, we initiated the Thai Poosam Kavady.
- In 2014, we hosted the first firewalking festival in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, which was well-attended, and we’ve been organizing this popular event annually ever since.
- In April 2015, we celebrated our joyful 10-year anniversary.
- In March 2022, we conducted the Maha Kumbabishegam of our new temple site.
We take great pride in our history and achievements and look forward to continuing our mission of promoting the worship of the Divine Mother Adhie Parashakthie.
